This privacy policy describes how the Quant Trading Strategy Optimizer Chrome extension (the “Extension”) uses and protects the data you provide when you install and use the Extension. By installing or using the Extension, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data Collection

1.1 Browsing Context Data

• The Extension reads publicly visible chart data and UI elements from TradingView pages (e.g., strategy names, parameter values, backtest results).

• This is not personal data; it is information about the strategies you run on your own charts.

1.2 Local Storage Usage

• The Extension stores non‑personal state in your browser using:

  • window.localStorage for automation status flags (e.g. paused, stopped, completed)

  • chrome.storage.local for persistent user settings (e.g. parameter ranges, last-used strategy)

• No personally identifiable information (PII) is stored.

1.3 External API Calls

• The Extension may make authenticated calls to the Quant Trading Pro backend to fetch non‑personal analytics or licensing checks.

• No personal identifiers (name, email, IP) are sent to or stored by the backend.

2. Data Usage

• All data extraction and backtesting runs occur locally in your browser and within the TradingView page context.

• The Extension uses scraped chart data solely to perform parameter sweeps, run backtests, and display results.

• Local storage data is used to maintain your session state and remember your configuration between browser restarts.

3. Data Sharing

• No data is transmitted to any third parties except for optional calls to quant-backend-t31h.onrender.com for legitimate analytics or license validation.

• No user data is sold or shared outside of these purposes.

4. Cookies and Tracking

• The Extension does not set any cookies on TradingView or other sites.

• It does not use any third‑party tracking or analytics libraries.

5. Security

• All communication to the backend uses HTTPS to protect data in transit.
