Description
# AMD STRATEGY**Developed by Ahmad Albara**AMD Strategy is a trading strategy indicator based on the Accumulation, Manipulation, and Distribution framework. It is designed to identify potential trading opportunities through consolidation zones, liquidity sweeps, and breakout confirmation using an estimated Volume Profile Point of Control (POC).Developed primarily for the M5 timeframe, AMD Strategy combines AMD zone detection, momentum candle filtering, ATR-based risk management, optional iFVG confirmation, and a professional backtesting dashboard to help traders evaluate strategy performance systematically.## Key Features### 1. Accumulation DetectionIdentifies consolidation zones based on the number of candles and the maximum permitted price range relative to the Average True Range (ATR). Accumulation zones are displayed as boxes, making price structure easier to observe and analyze.### 2. Manipulation DetectionDetects price movements that sweep above or below the accumulation range before closing back inside it. This condition serves as an initial signal for identifying potential distribution opportunities.### 3. Volume Profile & POC ConfirmationEstimates the Point of Control (POC) based on candle volume distribution within the accumulation range. Breakout signals are confirmed by candle closes relative to the POC, combined with a minimum candle body percentage filter.**Note:** The POC used in this indicator is a candle-based estimate, not a direct reading from TradingView's built-in Fixed Range Volume Profile.### 4. Momentum Candle FilterFilters breakout candles according to the percentage of the candle body relative to its total range. This feature helps select confirmation candles based on the strength of the price movement and reduces reliance on weak breakout candles.### 5. ATR-Based Stop Loss & Risk-RewardSupports ATR-based stop-loss placement and configurable risk-reward ratios. Traders can test different risk-reward scenarios, including:- 1:1- 1:1.5- 1:2- 1:2.5- 1:3These options allow traders to compare different exit targets and evaluate how risk-reward settings affect historical strategy performance.### 6. Optional iFVG ConfirmationProvides an additional confirmation option using the Inversion Fair Value Gap (iFVG). This feature can be enabled or disabled according to the trader's testing requirements, allowing comparisons between setups with and without iFVG confirmation.### 7. Professional Backtesting DashboardThe performance dashboard provides an overview of the strategy's historical results, including:- Total trades and win rate- Net profit and percentage return- Profit factor- Maximum drawdown- Expectancy measured in R- Recovery factor and System Quality Number (SQN)- Long and short performance statistics- Winning and losing streaks- Monthly performance heatmapThese statistics help traders assess performance, compare configurations, and understand the balance between profitability and risk.## Strategy BaselineThe following configuration is used as the baseline for strategy testing:| Parameter | Setting ||---|---|| Primary timeframe | M5 || Accumulation | 6 candles || Maximum accumulation range | 2 × ATR || Wait after manipulation | 6 candles || Range expiry | 20 candles || Minimum breakout body | 35% || POC bins | 24 || Stop-loss method | ATR-based || Stop-loss multiplier | 1.5 × ATR || Risk-reward ratio | 1:1 |### Historical Backtesting ResultsIn one historical test, this configuration produced **101 trades with a 63% win rate**.This result represents a specific configuration and testing period. It should not be interpreted as a guarantee of future performance, and results may vary across instruments, market conditions, and testing periods.## Development ObjectiveAMD Strategy was developed to provide a structured framework for testing the Accumulation, Manipulation, and Distribution approach. Its primary objectives are to:- Identify potential trading setups around accumulation and manipulation phases.- Evaluate breakout confirmation relative to the estimated POC.- Filter breakout candles based on momentum characteristics.- Compare stop-loss and risk-reward configurations.- Analyze historical performance through statistical metrics.- Support systematic strategy evaluation using historical market data.By combining price-action analysis, estimated volume-based confirmation, configurable risk management, and performance statistics, AMD Strategy aims to provide a consistent environment for evaluating trading setups.## DisclaimerAMD Strategy is an analytical and strategy-testing tool, not a guarantee of profitability. Historical backtesting results do not guarantee future performance.Actual trading results may differ due to spreads, commissions, slippage, data quality, execution conditions, and the characteristics of the selected trading instrument. Traders should conduct independent testing and apply appropriate risk management before using the strategy in live markets.
