Description

Magnet Structure Strategy trades the moment price hunts stops and then fails to follow through. It finds swing liquidity zones, waits for one to be swept, and enters only when price closes back through the level in the direction of market structure. The stop sits just past the sweep. The target is the next opposing liquidity zone, the “magnet” price tends to travel toward. How it worksLiquidity zones. Confirmed swing highs and lows become ATR-height supply and demand zones. Nearby swings merge into a single zone, and only the most recent zones per side stay live.Sweep. A zone counts as swept when price trades through its far edge. A range spring or UTAD also counts: a break of the recent range low or high that closes back inside.Reclaim. Within a few bars of the sweep, price must close back through the zone in the trade direction, on a candle that closes that way.Structure gate. Longs are allowed only while the last structure break was bullish, and shorts only while it was bearish. Break of structure (BOS) and change of character (CHoCH) set the trend state. You can switch the gate off.Risk and target.Stop: just beyond the sweep extreme, clamped between a minimum and maximum ATR distance.Target: the nearest opposing zone if it is at least the minimum R away. Otherwise a default R multiple, capped at a maximum R.Timeout: a trade that goes nowhere is closed after a set number of bars.Cooldown: a short pause after each trade before the next entry.Optional momentum filter. A 0–100 momentum oscillator can require readings above 50 for longs and below 50 for shorts.FeaturesLiquidity zones drawn as soft, borderless boxes, with swept zones removed (or faded if you prefer)Trend-colored candles, an adaptive trend band with glow, and a trend EMADotted structure-break lines with CHoCH labels⚡ sweep marks plus SPRING / UTAD tagsR-multiple tickets showing entry, stop and target, with the result labeled in R when the trade closesA compact stats panel with trend, trades, win rate, profit factor and net profitBUY and SELL alert conditionsEvery threshold is an input, and visuals can be toggled individuallyTipsTimeframe: start on 15m–4h. Very low timeframes produce many marginal sweeps.Fewer, cleaner trades: raise the swing length, raise the minimum R for a zone target, or turn on the momentum filter.More trades: set the trend gate to “Any” to allow counter-trend springs and UTADs, or lengthen the reclaim window.Position size: the default is 30% of equity per trade, which is aggressive. Lower it, or size from the stop distance.Costs: the default commission is 0.05% per side. Replace it with your own fees and slippage before judging results.WarningsThis is a backtest, not a promise. Results are in-sample and depend on the symbol, timeframe, settings and period tested.Zone targets assume price travels to the next zone. It often doesn’t, and the stop can be hit first.Sweep-and-reclaim setups often cluster, and choppy conditions can produce a run of small losses. The strategy does not account for spreads widening, gaps, or news events, and fills in live trading will differ from the tester.Treat the stats panel as a quick read, not validation. Test across several symbols and timeframes, and forward-test before risking real capital. This is not financial advice.
